Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction: a ministry of the Church, to the Church and beyond

The training program offered by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane nurtures and refines God's gifts for this ministry, drawing on the wisdom of the spiritual direction tradition and the experience of participants.

It is available for those who are ordained, members of religious communities and lay people alike and is ecumenical in its embrace.

Do you have:

• Mature and committed Christian faith
• Love of and commitment to prayer
• A sense of call to the ministry of spiritual direction
• Sufficient life experience to enable you to respond with wisdom to a wide range of people
• The capacity to listen empathetically and enter sensitively into spiritual conversation
• Openness to learning - from your own and others’ experience, from scripture and tradition,study, reflection, written and group work
• Commitment to your own personal and spiritual growth.
